the baby birth experience

Ten months ago in the early hours of the morning I received the call that my sister was going into labour, two weeks earlier than her due date. This was doubly exciting because it had been arranged that I could capture the delivery on camera. Not only was I going to be present in the delivery room with my sister but I was going to be able to give her a hard copy of memories that document one of the most pivotal moment’s in a woman’s life. I was so grateful to the doctor and staff of St Annes hospital and to my sister for sharing this beautiful life event with me. I was so moved throughout the experience I literally had to still my shaking hands as I tried in equal parts to absorb the experience and document it faithfully to the end. I’ll never forget this day nor will I lose that sense of wonder for the gift of new life and the blessings we can count in abundance with every breath we take.  (more of my personal ramblings on Instagram)
