This blended family session happened on the outskirts of town, on a small-holding that was home to their herd of cows.
It started and ended with family captures, but in-between there was the surprising deviation of a marriage proposal. I had been alerted to this curve- ball prior to the day, with few explicit details offered. Except for the small matter of the cows. At some point of the shoot we made our way towards an enclosure where 4 cows were released with a word on each one that formed the request “Will you marry me.”Tricky as it was to get the cows in line formation, it was difficult to anticipate their direction and speed.
I opted to video the procession and switched back to camera mode as the crucial moment of the bended knee took place. It was very special, and especially so to be witnessed and celebrated with their children on either side.
