A favourite part of my work is that I get to spend time with good people. It’s only an hour, and often it’s only once, but that’s all it takes for good impressions to last. When I speak about photo sessions it’s really not the optimal conditions that hold my interest. Will I postpone a shoot if the weather is below par? Yes. Will I seek out a really great spot that will provide an awesome backdrop? Yes. But when I walk away from a family after spending time with them, it’s the warmth of their energy and the way they connect with each other that stays with me. Long after that one, brief, 60 minute session I’m living off the gratitude of being able to spend my time doing what I really enjoy and with people who always give me something good to think about.
