Believe me or not, but I still get an apprehensive thrill before a session. Double that when it’s first time clients. And triple that again when it’s a brand new location. I hit the trifecta with this shoot.
On this day we met up at Fountainhill Estate in Wartburg, which is a private estate that gives neighbours special privileges such as nature walks, picnics and family photo shoots. It is a beautiful location and I was spoilt for choice.
Of course, the lookout point over a cliff spanning a view of the horizon is always a no-brainer, and the seasonal shift out of summer gifted me with some beautiful afternoon light too. The best energy-giver, though, is always being in the company of warm, friendly, giving people. I get to cross paths with many families and when it’s a brand new introduction it’s with a thankful sense of having made my circle a little bigger.
