Over the years the average age of children in family sessionshas shifted from babies and toddlers to the teenage years. Every age has its delights, to photograph and to experience, but I think that as our kids get older we become more sentimental about our role as parents. Young adulthood is often a period before plus ones become permanent fixtures and your children can still be called ‘yours’. I love to see the pride on the faces of parents and the harmony that co-exists within these relationships. There is a bubbling affection that flows both ways.
This can be an unfamiliar season for parents to navigate through but it’s also good to be reminded that when your kids are with you and they want to be there, it’s because you’ll always be there safe space.
