What about now?

This shoot happened in the month before lockdown first started. It was a regular afternoon in February and at the time my main concern was the listlessness of the sun that wasn’t giving me the wattage I would’ve liked. At the time we could never have known that an avalanche of devastation and despair was about to change our world. Lately I have been thinking about how we really have no idea what lies around every corner of our days. Sometimes we make plans for a future we don’t know is ours, and other times we lose precious moments to agonising over things we cannot change. Outcomes that will never materialise. All we have is now, and the power we possess is in the choices we make to live as if the ordinary day in itself is exceptional.
